POV Project: P&P: Chapter One

The format should be fairly clear, but I'll explain it here, just in case.

Each analysis will consist of a number, a quotation, the point of view, an explanation (if necessary) and the mode of narration in parantheses.  Like so:

(1)  As soon as they were gone, Elizabeth walked out to recover her spirits; or, in other words, to dwell without interruption on those subjects that must deaden them more.

POV:  Omniscient narrator.  (Action/Exposition.)

The number refers to the quotation's place in the chapter - therefore the first sentence of Ch 54 is (1).  We're clearly hearing a neutral, all-knowing third party's interpretation of Elizabeth's behaviour, so no explanation is necessary.  As we're both seeing what Elizabeth does, and being told what it means, the mode is both Action and Exposition.  Others are Dialogue, Introspection, Summary, etc etc.
